Recovering a WDS Server That Is Corrupted

Like most Windows products, Windows Deployment Services (WDS) is bound to break on you at some point.  Normally you can simply try to restart the service, but sometime even that doesn’t work.  In this event, open a command prompt, and enter the following:

wdsutil /uninitialize-server
wdsutil /initialize-server /reminst:{RemoteInstallFolder}

Replace the appropriate string with your WDS remote installation folder path (ie, D:\wds_install_images).
